On Thursday, March 20th, 2003, the day following the announcement of the United States' war on Iraq, several hundred students from Western Washington University took the streets in outrage. Later in the afternoon, the students along with others in the Bellingham community - who they had met up with at the local Federal Building - proceeded to I-5, peacefully blockading the freeway for approximately half an hour. They eventually returned to the Federal Building for a rally.
